What is gold filled?

Gold filled is the highest quality under solid gold. Gold filled pieces contain multiple layers of gold. In fact, 100x more gold alloy than gold plated. Gold filled contains 5% gold alloy on core metal vs. gold plated which contains .05% gold alloy on core metal. This makes gold filled jewelry last longer and stands up to wear and tear. Gold filled is tarnish resistant and the perfect alternative to solid gold. It still provides the same lavish look and feel of gold but at a more affordable price.

What is sterling silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver that contains 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals. This make up provides significant durability. Sterling silver jewelry is tarnish resistant but can tarnish over time as the alloy metals oxidize however you can avoid this with proper care.

Care

14K gold filled, 14K rose gold filled, and sterling silver are tarnish resistant and can get wet. Gold filled and sterling silver beads can tarnish over time if not properly cared for. You should avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and things that react to metals such as scented lotions and sunscreen, perfume, polish remover, and cleaning products. Allow all beauty products to dry before putting on your jewelry. When getting your jewelry wet, please pat dry with a soft cloth.

To clean your gold filled and sterling silver bracelets, anklets, and rings use mild soapy water and an untreated polishing cloth. Do not scrub in an effort to avoid scratching.

Heishi clay discs and Czech glass beads can get wet. After getting the beads wet, please pat dry with a soft cloth.

When you are not wearing your jewelry, we recommend storing it in a closed jewelry box or airtight container.
